When we first began the Beth Moore James Bible study, I knew he was going to get into my business.
After all, isn't that why we avoid James (and lots of other scripture for that matter) some days?
Our family is *ahem* passionate.
James 1:19 is everything I am not.
Yet.
Jesus changes lives.
His blood covers and cleanses hopelessly ingrained sin.
The Holy Spirit convicts and empowers.
I can do all things (including hold my tongue) through Christ Who strengthens me.
Be blessed,
I need to remember the advice in that verse.

I've been reading a lot lately about not always having to be right, not always having to have my say, not pointing out when other people are wrong and I've realised how habitually I do all those things. I love your post: especially the bit about his blood covering and cleansing ingrained sin... these things have roots pretty deep in me. Thankyou.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo of the snails~even though they are not my favorite creatures. You brought out the beauty in his shell. I have done that Beth Moore Bible Study and it is great. And yet, the Holy Spirit has a lot of work to do in me. My post today also includes a lot of Scripture from James--for I, too, am one to quick to speak and get angry. Enjoyed your post. Keep going with the study. It's a great one!

Oh the words speaking straight to my heart. I, too, am all those things and need to remember that I need to hold my tongue too. I've always wanted to do the James study. I will definitely need to be more active in starting it. Thank you for the encouragement.
