Scripture and a Snapshot: The Story of this Blog

Once upon a time,

there was a teacher-turned-stay-at-home-mommy-turned-teacher-turned stay-at-home-mommy

(who’s now a teacher again—but that’s not important to this story.)

After a while, this teacher/SAHM/whatever decides to jump into the fray at Blogger.

She searches her brain for a catchy title.

Fresh out.

So she searches her soul this time, looking for the lens through which she’ll view the world,

and it will view her.

What’s the one thing, the one thing

that she’d tell the world,

that would make her words matter at all?

“One thing I ask of the Lord,

this is what I seek,

simply to dwell in the house of the Lord

all my days,

and to gaze upon His beauty and to seek Him in His temple.”

Psalm 27:4

Over a year into blogging, this person found the little button on Blogger called “stats.”

(Not techie or particularly curious, this person,  apparently.)

She discovered people actually do read her blog, even if they are mostly silent.

They seem to read the posts

where pain and life and God intersect.

Messy life+Jesus=God’s Glory

She will never understand how that works.

She will never have 2346 followers and 27 comments,

but maybe, just maybe,

Christ will guide her fingers on the keys,

and someone will seek and dwell and gaze

at the feet of her Beautiful Savior.

Be blessed today,

  1. I'm not great at commenting all the time on other's posts. I am trying to do better, because I too love to know people are reading. But your posts are always beautifully written and encouraging. Keep it up!

  2. This was great Ginger!'s all for Him.

Love your title and your picture is so pretty!

Hope you have a blessed day!

  3. Hi Ginger:

I love your post. At times I wonder if anyone reads what I post, but I'm blogging in obedience to Him. Thank you for visiting my photo blog (I don't post there as often as my other blog). It is nice to know others read and I so appreciate the comments I receive.

  4. Beautiful photo and verse, beautiful post my friend.

  5. Hey there! I've been so distracted w/odds and ends and not visiting on blogs. I saw your comment today on mine and realized just how distracted I've been! I've missed coming by. And, what a day to stop by. I remember your first posts. We started blogging about the same time and your blog was such an encouragement to me. Leaving and coming back is in part due to missing you and others. But, it's also a lot to do with what you wrote about today. We truly do not know who is troubled and struggling or wondering and when they come across a word of faith ... glad you've stayed with it. Great post! Enjoyed remembering and thinking about it w/ya. Love, Jenn

  6. I love that verse! It says so clearly my heart's longings. Beautiful photo!
