Scripture and a Snapshot: Relentless

Over the last few months, God has been teaching me about belief in the face of unyielding circumstances.

Faith boils down to this: do I just believe in God--

or do I believe God?

You see, I’ve got some stuff in my life that is not.

More than once, I have cried out in prayer, “Lord, this situation won’t end.  It is relentless!”

His answer:

So am I.

My God will not relent

until He has made dead things living,

until He has called all things that are not

as though they are.

Until He has all of me.

Four years ago today, my father passed into heaven, an old man who spent –literally—all but a few weeks of his life running from Christ.

God did not relent until He had it all.DSC03687

This Christmas, as you wait on God to do something only He can do, submit to the Father that won’t relent.

Be blessed today,

Ginger

WOW, great writing, Ginger. I never thought of it that way. Amazing post. And I am sorry again about the loss of your father. You are in my prayers this day.

  2. Beautiful photo!
I love the song "You Won't Relent" by Misty Edwards. We sang it at church last week. Very powerful!

  3. This is a beautiful, heartfelt and TRUE post! I got choked up at "So am I." - because He is and too often we don't see that. I am so sorry you lost your father, but thrilled that he came to know Christ before it was too late!

  6. Great post, yet those words seem so unworthy for the story and sentiment.

  15. Beautifully written, Ginger. I think we are all the same in that we have tremendous challenges that are too big for us. Being human, it is difficult to let go, but if we do, our 'Perfect Parent' will carry us. ....So sorry about your dad. The void a person leaves can seem unbearable, but somehow God give us the gift of the sun rising each day.
